Virgo in Evolutionary Astrology: Here to Notice

Virgo is here to notice.

I made this one for all of you carrying Virgo, which is everyone, since it lives somewhere in every chart. What most are taught is the critic. What I love about Virgo is that it notices what needs care. It's the feng shui artist of the zodiac and the medicine person. Its remedy is Pisces, the sign across the wheel, which teaches Virgo to just chill.

Virgo, in words

What it feels like: Intellect moving with body.

Virgo is earth ruled by Mercury: deeply in the body, and so heady. Intellect really moving with body.

It sees everything. You go outside to visit the garden, and next thing you know there are weeds to pick. That can run as a hyper-stimulated nervous system, the mind that never stops.

At its best Virgo is spirit into form: be here now, be real, do the thing.

What most are taught: The critic.

What most are taught about Virgo is the critic: judgy, picky, noticing everything that's wrong.

Go deeper and Virgo is noticing what needs care: that needs to be cleaned, or moved, or helped, or called out. It's discernment, getting to purity and wholeness.

Virgo comes out of Leo. Leo is the top of the pyramid, and in Virgo the pyramid gets inverted. I'm one of the ones.

The joy of carrying it: The feng shui artist.

Virgos are the feng shui artists of the zodiac, moving things from here to there and making things look even better: the altar, the garden, the psyche, the body.

Virgos are highly skilled, and they know how capable they are.

Virgo is the medicine person, the apothecary, working with the earth, the herbs and the food, in a consciousness of: the body is my temple.

The good work: The great work.

Virgo and the 6th house are one's great work. Effort and devotion are an incremental, compounding process over time that creates a result.

Just stopping and breathing one time a day becomes five times a day, then a lifestyle, then a consciousness shift.

So the question becomes: what are we doing with our time and energy every day? What we do over and over becomes us.

The shadow: Not good enough yet.

I'm not good enough. I'm not ready. I need another degree before I can show up. That's the negative mind, and at its darkest it's humility taken so far it feels unworthy.

It keeps itself busy doing the dishes instead of the great work, and it won't stop to receive or celebrate.

The remedy is Pisces, its opposite, which teaches Virgo to just chill. Let it go. It's done when it's done.

The highest intention

The highest intention of Virgo is to live body and spirit united. As the body is a temple of the spirit, in unity we find well-being.

The height of Virgo is ultimate compassion for the self: this is where I am now, and I'm still going to show up.

In our higher self, every archetype is fully embodied within its opposite. So Virgo notices, and flows.
