What I love about Venus is that it's your relationship with yourself first and foremost, and that it's the lover who gives everything and yet loses nothing. In the deepest sense, the relationships Venus attracts are a mirror of that internal self-regard.

The overflow: Magnetic embodiment.

Venus shows the frequency that you're emanating. It's a vibe. It's a feeling. It's a frequency that you are and are attracted towards.

There is such a powerful magnetism in Venus. That muse is within us; we can be the muse for others.

To just seduce by essence is the muse. When we move with it, it is a highly inspiring energy.

The overwhelm: People-pleasing.

Overwhelm arises when love is performed for approval. The shadow of Venus can be addicted to love, addicted to the connection. Its voice is: I want somebody to want me.

So you can ask: Am I using love to feel worthy?

The more you understand the shadow of your Venus, the more you can see the traps of your own nature.

How it ripens: The forty days.

Venus goes retrograde about every 18 months, a 40-day cycle. I call it the descent into the underworld.

Wherever it retrogrades in your chart, you're ushered into intense growth in your relationship to yourself. It's so common that people from our past show up.
