Saturn in Evolutionary Astrology: Meaning, Shadow and Medicine
Saturn: from restriction to mastery.
I made this one for all of you carrying Saturn, which is everyone, since it lives somewhere in every chart. What most are taught is that Saturn is where your limitation is. What I love about Saturn is that it's your mastery as well as your limitation, and that it's the mountain you were born to climb. Saturn rules Capricorn, so this one's the partner to the Capricorn post.

Saturn, in words
What it feels like: Gravity.
Saturn is bones, the spinal system, the structure, that which holds us in place. It's the feeling of gravity and grounded weight.
I think of concrete, like the bricks in the wall. It is the pressure of life.
Sometimes we don't want to brush our teeth or take a shower, but we have to do it.
What most are taught: Your limitation.
What most are taught about Saturn is: this is where your limitation is, this is what you struggle with. Saturn does not punish.
Go deeper and Saturn is the boundary of our consciousness, the wall we hit within our own understanding.
Saturn is here to build you into the most sovereign, grounded, self-responsible version of yourself.
The overflow: Mastery.
Wherever we have our Saturn, it is our mastery as well as our limitation.
It can be the thing that we have endured, and while enduring it we get better at it. We can be very good at it and not think we are: Not yet. It's still hard.
We always earn something with Saturn. Sometimes the reward is only integrity, respect.
The overwhelm: Restriction.
Saturn is where we can feel restricted. This is my struggle. This is where I'm blocked. We can lock ourselves in.
Resistance is necessary. If we have very acute fear, it's intelligence that's informing us of something.
Where are you being called to push beyond the boundary of your own consciousness? It takes time, because resistance is real.
How it ripens: Every 29 years.
Saturn takes about 29 years to go around your chart, and it beats on a 7-year pulse: a square at 7, the opposition at 14 to 15, another square at 21 to 22, the return at 29.
Each one is a reckoning point. Saturn square Saturn is like a video game: you've just hit the next level.
The highest
Saturn is the place within us where we have already acquired great inner mastery. Reaping the rewards requires discipline, commitment, and dedication.
The highest expression of Saturn is like power to power: What do you have to teach me? What do I have to teach you?
Saturn is the mountain, and you were born to climb it.
