Moon in Evolutionary Astrology: Meaning, Shadow and Medicine
The Moon: from emotional flood to emotional flow.
I made this one for all of you carrying the Moon, which is everyone, since it lives somewhere in every chart. What most are taught is moods and the mother. What I love about the Moon is that our emotional body has its own intelligence, and that the Moon is the lever, where free will lives in the most practical sense. The Moon rules Cancer, so this one's the partner to the Cancer post.

Moon, in words
What it feels like: Feeling.
The Moon represents the emotional body. Our emotional body has intelligence, it has its own brain.
We can hear a song and start crying. We can smell something and start feeling emotion. These are the imprints of the body.
It is the most intimate, immediate, and personal layer of the chart, the one who is with you in every ordinary moment.
What most are taught: The mother.
What most are taught about the Moon is moods and the mother. All of that is in there.
All that we hear about the Moon being so moody is because we're just flowing with the now.
Go deeper and the Moon is your self-image, the ego structure the soul creates on the emotional body in each lifetime to actualize its soul intention.
The overflow: Emotional Flow.
Wherever you have your Moon is that place that is medicinal. It shows what the heart most naturally wants, what feels good without needing to be justified.
We have to do our Moon. What do we do in our free time? We do our Moon.
It's the daily interface between the soul and the very human moments of an actual life. The Moon is where spirit touches ground.
The overwhelm: Emotional Flood.
The identity of the past can still be lodged in our body and be triggered, and then it comes up now and affects our choices.
We habitually return to where we feel secure. It is where you can fall into your own traps.
The more clearly you can observe your Moon's shadow patterns, the more choice you have. The moment you can see a pattern, you have activated step one of change.
How it ripens: Every month.
Every month the Moon passes through all twelve signs and makes contact with every natal planet in your chart. Saturn does that over 30 years. The Moon does it all in one month.
That intensity that arrives on the same days of every month? The Moon is likely on the same natal planet.
Keep a moon calendar. All you have to do is pay attention.
The highest
The Moon is the present moment that contains both the past and the future. It is the living bridge.
Pluto and the Nodes describe the territory that was set before you arrived. The Moon is the place where you can actually do something right now, today, in this reaction.
The Moon is the lever. This is where free will lives in the most practical sense.
